I supplemented listening to 2pac by looking up information about his life.
A lot of his subject matter deals with the systematic problems associated with the darker sides of capitalism: gang life, low-class violence, dealing with life's pressures, jail, crime, etc. His flow and lyricism, coupled with his naturally baritone voice that's often overdubbed it's just so powerful, especially given the content of his rhymes. I honestly didn't know what to expect, but god damn, it blew me away. I recently began to delve into his discography starting with his acclaimed Me Against the World album.
